29 July 2026 | Perth Korean War Memorial, Kings Park
More than 150 veterans, members of the Korean Australian community, government and diplomatic representatives, students and members of the public gathered to commemorate the Korean War Armistice Agreement and honour the service and sacrifice of Australian veterans. His Excellency Governor Chris Dawson and Mrs Dawson attended alongside veterans and community representatives.
Dr Hea-Jin Park of the Korea Research & Engagement Centre delivered an invited address reflecting on the historical significance of Australia’s involvement in the Korean War and the continuing importance of Australia–Korea relations.
By contributing Korea-related expertise to a major public commemoration, KRC helped broaden understanding of the historical foundations of Australia–Korea relations. The event also strengthened connections with veterans’ organisations, community groups and government stakeholders.
