The Korea Research & Engagement Centre (KRC) invites applications for one short-term Visiting Resident Research Project Support supported by a grant from the Academy of Korean Studies.
The residency of the selected visiting scholar will last for one week. During this week, the selected visiting scholar is required to be in residence in the KRC’s Perth office at Curtin University (no remote residency is possible) and to present a seminar on their chosen Korea-related topic. Visiting scholars are encouraged to pursue their own Korea-focused research during their residency and use the opportunity to develop future collaboration opportunities with the KRC team.
Upon completion of the research stay, the visiting scholar is expected to submit one article or book chapter acknowledging the support of the Core University Program for Korean Studies through the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Korea and Korean Studies Promotion Service of Academy of Korean Studies (AKS-2022-OLU-2250005) project within a year of the residency. Note that this project funding cannot be combined with other AKS funding sources that require arising publications to be acknowledged.
The residency must be completed no later than November 2025.
Successful applicants will receive:
one week residency at the KRC;
one round-trip flight to Perth up to the value of AUD$2,500 and accommodation at Curtin University’s campus hotel; and
AUD$500 honorarium payable at the completion of the residency.
